ROV Pilot Technician Course

Phase 2: Simulation

Phase 2 of the course offers students an immersive experience in the world of ROV operations through the use of a classroom simulator.

This tool allows them to explore the different uses, contexts and scenarios of  ROV use, even in less than optimal weather and sea conditions.

During the simulations, students tackle a series of assigned tasks, such as reaching specific dive locations, inspections, recoveries and searches, learning to navigate and operate the vehicle effectively and safely. Vehicle parameters and environmental conditions are regularly modified to increase the difficulty of the dive tests, giving students the opportunity to face real challenges and understand the importance of communication and collaboration in achieving objectives.

At the end of the simulation sessions, students will be ready to apply the skills they acquired in practice, using the ROV in real field activities.

During the Practical phase of the course, students will have the opportunity to put they acquired knowledge into practice in the pool or at sea, using an ROV system.

During this phase, students will focus on familiarizing with the ROV vehicle controls and the umbilical cable management during dive operations.

Effective team communication and TMS (Tether Management System) management in Work-Class ROV vehicles will be essential.

Students will acquire crucial skills, such as awareness, orientation and decision-making, necessary to deal with various scenarios in the field.

At the end of the practical session, we will certify the number of piloting hours completed by each student, providing official recognition of their level of competence.
