ROV Minimum Requirements

Pre-requisites

Requirements in order to work in the Offshore Industry as ROV Pilot Tech.

The IMCA Guide establishes the minimum input (Entry Level Requirements and Basic Introductory Course IMCA DOC R 002 rev 2) for new staff ROV. These minimum requirements are a must for the new ROV Pilots looking out into the Oil&Gas industry respecting the characteristics required for personnel established by IMCA ROV (Doc IMCA R 002 Rev 2). 

 

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

Sectors:

  • Degree in a Technical Discipline
  • Diploma in the following industrial fields:

- Electric
- Electronics
- Hydraulic
- Mechanics

Or:

  • Three years of relevant experience working technique certified in one of the technical areas mentioned.
  • Under certain circumstances, applicants who do not possess any of the characteristics mentioned but that certify an extensive industrial experience may still be allowed.
  • Candidates with qualifications acquired during military service.

  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English language in the Technical Offshore

  • Practical abilities
  • Problem Solving
  • Sense of responsibility

Another important attitude is the preparation for an activity that involves the alternation (usually monthly) periods of working away from home.

 

FIT TO WORK:

  • Good mental and physical health
  • Do not have physical disabilities
  • Suitability to overcome specific medical examinations required to work in the Offshore environment.
